Screen Addiction Questionnaire

Here’s a quick questionnaire to determine if someone has screen addiction:

  1. How much time do you spend looking at screens (e.g. phone, computer, TV) each day?

  2. Do you often lose track of time while using screens?

  3. Do you feel anxious or agitated when you’re not using a screen?

  4. Have you tried to cut back on screen time in the past, but found it difficult?

  5. Do you frequently use screens to avoid negative feelings or problems?

  6. Do you experience physical symptoms such as eye strain, headaches, or neck pain from screen use?

  7. Have you ever skipped meals or lost sleep because of screen use?

  8. Do you find yourself checking your phone or other screens constantly, even when there’s no notification or reason to do so?

  9. Have you experienced conflicts with others because of your screen use?

  10. Do you feel like you can’t fully enjoy activities or experiences without a screen to distract you?

These questions are intended to provide a rough indication of whether someone may be struggling with screen addiction, but they are not a formal diagnostic tool. If you’re concerned about your own or someone else’s screen use, it’s always a good idea to speak to a mental health professional for further guidance.
